Bill Patterson

Dr. Bill Patterson is a Professor and Director of the Saskatchewan Isotope Laboratory in the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan. His multidisciplinary research spans climatology, isotope geochemistry, and sedimentary biogeochemistry.

Research interests include paleoclimate reconstruction using isotopic proxies, climate change impacts on ecosystems, and behavioral studies of birds and bats. His work integrates field observations with analytical geochemistry to understand Earth system dynamics across timescales.

Laboratory leadership focuses on advancing isotope applications in environmental and geological research. Teaching emphasizes field schools and geophysical methods training.
