Bill DeLuca serves as Professor of Theatre Arts in the Department of Theatre & Dance within California State University, Dominguez Hills' College of Arts & Humanities. With professional experience at major institutions including Guthrie Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Club, and Yale Repertory Theatre, he brings extensive industry expertise to his academic role while maintaining active teaching and directing responsibilities.
His research and creative work centers on Theatre Directing, Playwriting, and Community-Engaged Theatre, demonstrated through leadership of Teatro Dominguez—a multicultural student-faculty-staff company—and founder of The Dominguez Bridge Theatre Company. These initiatives produce issue-driven works and children's musicals touring local schools, alongside community-based original productions derived from South Bay resident interviews.
Professor DeLuca teaches specialized courses including Theatre of Revolt and The Power of Masks, directing numerous productions from classical works like Twelfth Night to contemporary pieces such as For Colored Girls. His commitment to community service manifests through theatre-based educational outreach and management of the campus Women's Playwright Festival, creating significant opportunities for student involvement in multicultural theatrical expression.
