Bill Anthes is a Professor of Art at Pitzer College since 2006, specializing in Indigenous North American modern and contemporary artists, socially-engaged art, animals in art, and photography. He advises Art (Critical Studies and Studio Art) and American Studies majors.
- PhD in American Studies from University of Minnesota
- MA and BFA in Art History from University of Colorado, Boulder
His research integrates Indigenous epistemologies with activist art practices, focusing on intersections between art, ecological politics, and decolonial methodologies. Publications span 2006-2022 including critical essays and co-edited volumes.
