Bilal Nasir is an Assistant Professor in Asian American Studies at Pomona College, where he teaches and researches at the intersections of anthropology, critical race theory, and science & technology studies. His work centers on policing, surveillance, secularism, and Muslim communities in the United States.

Research Interests
Nasir’s scholarship engages the anthropology of Muslims and Islam within the United States, focusing on how policing and surveillance regimes shape racialized Muslim lives. Drawing on critical race studies and science & technology studies, he examines secularism as a political and cultural formation, explores social movements as sites of resistance, and analyzes the entanglements of technology with processes of racialization and governance.
