Bilal Ersen Kerman

Bilal Ersen Kerman is an Assistant Professor of Research Medicine at the University of Southern California. His research program focuses on the molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease, with emphasis on lipid metabolism, APOE biology, and neuroimaging approaches.

Dr. Kerman's work investigates cholesterol dysregulation, cellular senescence, and the gut-brain axis in neurodegeneration. His recent publications examine the role of lysosomal ABCA1 in cholesterol-mediated senescence, apoE glycosylation as an Alzheimer's biomarker, and nutritional interventions targeting cognitive decline. His research employs PET-MRI imaging, lipidomics, and molecular biology techniques to advance Alzheimer's diagnostics and therapeutics.
