She is affiliated with the Research Center of the University of Montreal Hospital Center (CRCHUM) and maintains an active research profile in digestive pathology and oncology.
Her research interests focus on pancreatic tumors, liver tumors, morphology, pathophysiology of cholestatic conditions, and digestive oncology. Dr. Nguyen has conducted significant research on morphological classification of focal nodular hyperplasia, immunohistochemical expression of pancreatic cystadenomas, extracellular matrix effects on hepatocyte apoptosis, and MUC profiles of appendiceal carcinoids.
Her recent publications demonstrate continued expertise in liver pathology, pancreatic diseases, and the molecular mechanisms of digestive system cancers, with work spanning from fundamental morphological studies to clinical applications in diagnosis and treatment.
Scientific Awards:
- Clinical Professor of the Year in Anatomopathology (1999-2001), awarded by program residents
Dr. Nguyen has held significant leadership positions including Director of the anatomopathology residency program at the University of Montreal (2001-2007) and Director of the Gastrointestinal Pathology Service at Ottawa Hospital (2007-2011).
