Beáta BŐTHE

Prof. Beáta BŐTHE is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology, Université de Montréal, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Science. She holds academic appointments in undergraduate and graduate programs including Baccalauréat en Psychologie, Neuroscience Cognitive, and Doctoral programs in Clinical Psychology. Her research focuses on compulsive sexual behaviors, problematic pornography use, and mental health interventions, employing advanced methodologies in assessment and intervention development.

Her work addresses behavioral addictions through cross-cultural studies involving 45+ countries, examining motivations behind sexual behaviors and their psychological impacts. Key projects include longitudinal analyses of emotion regulation in pornography use and development of validated measurement tools like the PPCS-6 scale. She has secured funding from the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Société et Culture (FRQSC) for a 2024-2028 study on dyadic dynamics in problematic pornography use.
