Bevin Clare

Bevin Clare is a Program Director for the Clinical Herbal Medicine program and a Professor at Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH). She holds an M.S. in Infectious Disease from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a B.S. in Contemporary Ethnobotany from Lesley University. Her professional licenses include LDN (Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist) and RH(AHG) (Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalists Guild).

Clare's work spans global herbalism, nutrition, and plant conservation. She served as former president of the American Herbalists Guild and has been a board member for over 20 years, advocating for herbalism's integration into healthcare systems. She is also a board member of United Plant Savers, focusing on protecting medicinal plant species. Her teaching portfolio includes courses in clinical herbal medicine (HRB738, HRB759, HRB641, HRB731, HRB732, HRB624) and a food-and-culture elective in the nutrition program (NUTR671).

Clare authored Spice Apothecary (2020), emphasizing culinary spices' medicinal uses. Her research interests include evidence-based herbal practices and culturally rooted nutrition strategies.
