Dr. Bevan Erueti serves as Associate Professor and Associate Dean Māori at Massey University's School of Health Sciences within the College of Health. His dual roles focus on advancing Te Tiriti o Waitangi-led initiatives, developing Māori knowledge capacity in teaching/research, and improving Māori student support structures from entry to graduation.
His educational credentials include:

Grounded in Kaupapa Māori methodologies, his research employs pūrākau (Māori narrative frameworks) to investigate Māori experiences in health promotion, sport, physical activity, and environmental health sociology. His work emphasizes place identity, geographical belonging, and the integration of Indigenous theory with international perspectives on human-environment interactions.
As a Doctoral Supervisor, he mentors health sciences students through culturally grounded approaches. His leadership involves collaborating with the Deputy Vice Chancellor Māori's office to drive institutional change in cultural safety, promote Māori academic agendas, and strengthen support systems for Māori learners across all academic stages.
