Betty Tsakarestou is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication and Media Studies, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens, Greece. She leads the ADandPRLab and serves as the Branding Chair and European Research Liaison for the International Communication Division (ICD) of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). Her work focuses on entrepreneurial journalism, innovation ecosystems, and leadership development in crisis contexts. She heads the #TheRoomWhereItHappensProject, exploring transformative leadership and collaborative strategies in media and business sectors.
Her research interests span entrepreneurial journalism education, youth entrepreneurship, urban innovation frameworks, and corporate social responsibility in Greece and Europe. She actively contributes to academic organizations, bridging European research collaborations and fostering innovation through experimental methodologies.
Betty’s projects emphasize co-creation in cities, leadership training for young professionals, and adapting educational curricula to emerging media landscapes. Her work addresses challenges such as market expansion strategies, crisis management in professional development, and fostering social impact through collaborative economies.
