Bettina Rudloff is an Assistant Professor at the European Institute for Integration Research, University of Bonn, and an Academic Lecturer at the European Institute for Public Administration. She has been a staff member at the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP) since 2008. Her research focuses on EU policy, international trade, agricultural policy, food security, and crisis management. She co-leads the 'Economic and Technological Transformations' research group at SWP.
Key research areas include trade and investment policies, resilience strategies, and critical infrastructure. She has contributed to studies on the EU-Mercosur agreement, sustainability in agricultural policy, and the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war on African food security. Current projects include analyzing geostrategic aspects of food security policies and advising the German government on due diligence obligations in agricultural sectors.
Rudloff is affiliated with the International Agricultural Trade Research Consortium (IATRC), The Trade and Public Policy Network (TaPP), and TradeExperettes. Her work bridges academia and policy, addressing global challenges like climate change, trade tensions, and geopolitical risks.
Her recent publications include analyses of EU trade strategies, US foreign aid withdrawal impacts, and India's emerging role in global agriculture. She has also engaged in policy dialogues on sustainable supply chains and corporate due diligence, emphasizing partner-centric approaches in trade agreements.
