Bettina Keller

Professor Bettina Keller is a faculty member in the Department of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Free University of Berlin. Her research spans biophysical chemistry, protein dynamics, and biomaterials, with a focus on understanding molecular interactions in biological systems.

Her primary research interests include:

• Protein dynamics and scale cascades
• Biomolecular interactions, especially fluorine-specific interactions in proteins
• Development of biomaterials such as mucin-like glyco- and peptide hydrogels
• Interaction of polyelectrolytes with biosystems
• Bioactive peptides synthesis and biosynthesis

Professor Keller has secured significant funding through the German Research Foundation (DFG), including ongoing projects in two International Research Training Groups (GRK 2662 and GRK 2473) and multiple Collaborative Research Centers (SFB). She also received the WBP Return Grant, which supported her return to the German research system.
