Dr Betsy Seah is a Research Assistant Professor at the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Her work focuses on community care for older adults, nursing workforce sustainability, and innovations in nursing education. She holds a PhD and BSc (Nursing) from NUS.
Dr Seah’s research emphasizes healthy ageing interventions, including her Salutogenic Healthy Ageing Programme Embracement (SHAPE) initiative for senior-only households. She has secured over SGD1.3M in research funding and publishes extensively in journals like Nurse Education Today and BMC Geriatrics. She serves on editorial and ethics committees, including the Joanna Briggs Institute Qualitative Evidence Synthesis Methods Group.
Her teaching areas include clinical simulation, qualitative research methods, and healthy ageing. Notable awards include the SPHERiC Fellowship (2019) and NUS Research Scholarship (2015–2019). Her research spans global nursing workforce challenges, technology in healthcare education (e.g., VR simulations), and pandemic impacts on nursing education.
Dr Seah co-founded Total Well-being SG to promote community health concepts. Her work bridges qualitative research methodologies with practical healthcare solutions, reflecting her commitment to improving aged care and nursing professional development.
