معرفی
Bethany Bradley is a Professor of Biogeography and Spatial Ecology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Department of Environmental Conservation. Her research focuses on terrestrial plant invasions, global change ecology, and climate change impacts on ecosystems. She leads the Spatial Ecology Lab, which synthesizes spatial data to map invasion risks and develop climate adaptation strategies.
Education:
- PhD (2006) – Brown University
- MSc (2003) – Brown University
- BA (2000) – Pomona College
Her work integrates biogeography, remote sensing, and species distribution modeling to analyze invasion debt, range infilling, and hotspot dynamics. Recent studies explore invasive-native productivity interactions and climate-smart gardening for native species persistence.
Scientific Awards:
- National Science Foundation award BCS 1560925
- National Institute of Food and Agriculture award
She advises graduate students through the Organismic and Evolutionary Biology program and mentors undergraduates on independent projects. The lab collaborates with the Northeast Regional Invasive Species & Climate Change (RISCC) Network to bridge science and management for climate-resilient ecosystems.
