Beth Thacker is a Professor of Physics at Texas Tech University, specializing in physics education research. She developed an inquiry-based curriculum (INQ) using Socratic questioning pedagogy. Her current research examines pedagogical content knowledge of Learning Assistants, thinking skills assessment across pedagogies, quantum computing education, and augmented reality applications.
Thacker led large-scale assessments demonstrating effectiveness of evidence-based materials in introductory physics. She developed and teaches undergraduate quantum computing courses. Her work advances physics education through innovative teaching methods and assessment tools.
