She serves as Associate Dean for Research Training, overseeing the Office of Biomedical Graduate Education and leading initiatives in curriculum development, student assessment, and wellness programs.
- Education: B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, and Classics from Western Maryland College; Ph.D. in Human Genetics from University of Maryland at Baltimore.
Her research focuses on mechanisms of human genome stability, particularly the genomics and epigenetics of centromeres, functional characterization of alpha satellite variation, and genome engineering of human artificial chromosomes. Recent publications highlight advances in centromere mapping, neocentromere formation, and T2T genome assembly.
Beth Sullivan has received prestigious recognition as a James B. Duke Distinguished Professor. Her work spans chromosome biology, epigenetic regulation, and biomedical applications, with methodological contributions to chromosome analysis techniques.
