Beth Myers serves as Assistant Provost for Faculty Success at Georgia State University since January 6, 2025, concurrently holding an academic appointment as Associate Professor in the Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design within the College of the Arts.
Her educational background includes:
- Doctoral degree in Consumer Affairs (Auburn University)
- Master’s degree in Textiles, Merchandising, and Interiors (University of Georgia)
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology (University of Georgia)
Dr. Myers’ research critically examines ethical dimensions of the global fashion industry, focusing on sustainability practices, social/political messaging in advertising, and cause-related marketing within textile production. Her work bridges fashion scholarship with wellness industry applications, emphasizing corporate accountability and societal impact through material culture analysis.
Her leadership recognitions include:
- 2023 Georgia Southern University Award of Excellence in Leadership
- University System of Georgia Executive Leadership Institute Scholar (2023-2024)
In her administrative role, she designs university-wide faculty development programs, refines promotion/tenure policies, and provides individualized mentorship. Previously as Chair of Georgia Southern’s School of Human Ecology, she co-chaired the University Chairs Council and pioneered faculty leadership initiatives that informed her current strategic approach at Georgia State.
