Beth Boser

Beth Boser is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Her research examines media representations, gender constructions, and advocacy discourse, with particular focus on how communication practices shape societal understandings of motherhood, politics, and identity.

Dr. Boser's work analyzes mediated discourses surrounding reproductive rights, vaccination debates, and political communication. She investigates how rhetorical strategies in public discourse influence policy formation and social attitudes. Her research employs critical analysis to deconstruct pathological narratives about women's health and motherhood in self-help literature and media representations.

Her scholarly contributions include examinations of political masculinity in electoral contexts, trust-building in health communication, and deconstruction of binary frameworks in motherhood studies. She teaches courses in communication criticism, media and society, and community advocacy.
