Beth Alpert Nakhai is Professor of Anthropology and Judaic Studies at the University of Arizona, with affiliations in Middle Eastern Studies and Religious Studies. Her research examines women's roles in antiquity, Israelite religion, and Canaanite culture through archaeological and textual evidence. Nakhai directs the Tell el-Wawiyat publication project and serves on academic boards including the Albright Institute of Archaeological Research.
