Beth A. Winkelstein

Beth A. Winkelstein is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. She leads the Spine Pain Research Laboratory, focusing on the pathomechanisms of chronic neck pain, particularly how mechanical loading translates to persistent pain via neuroimmunologic cascades.

• Research Focus: Chronic neck pain, cervical spine injuries, spinal cytokines, and glial biology.
• Lab Structure: Includes postdoctoral trainees, PhD candidates, master's candidates, research specialists, and undergraduate assistants.
