Beryl Castello is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). She serves as a Program Coordinator for the Applied and Computational Mathematics track within JHU’s Engineering for Professionals Program. Her academic roles include teaching and curriculum development in applied mathematics and operations research.
Education: Beryl holds a BS in Applied Mathematics and Management Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), an MS in Operations Research and Statistics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), and a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Johns Hopkins University. She has been affiliated with the Applied Mathematics and Statistics (AMS) department since 2005 as an instructor.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on operations research, discrete optimization, facility location strategies, and inventory modeling. These areas emphasize practical applications in logistics, resource allocation, and decision-making frameworks.
