Apurva Nakade is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). He focuses on improving math education through course redesign, data-driven approaches, and open-source educational resources. His research interests include algebraic topology, type theory, and mathematical formalization using the Lean Theorem Prover. He collaborates with Dr. Ben Grimmer to connect undergraduate students with research mentors. Nakade holds a PhD in Mathematics from JHU, an MSc from the Chennai Mathematical Institute, and a BTech in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur. He is an MAA Project NExT Fellow and has served as a mentor at the Canada/USA Mathcamp.
