Dr. Bertug Ozarisoy is a Lecturer in Architecture: Technology at London South Bank University (LSBU), affiliated with the Energy, Materials and Environment Research Centre and the Health and Wellbeing Research Centre. He holds a PhD in Architecture (2016–2022) and has over a decade of experience in architectural education, research, and practice. Previously, he served as an Hourly-paid Lecturer at the University of East London (2016–2019) and a Post-doctoral researcher at the Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus (2022–2023).
His research focuses on building energy modeling, thermal comfort, passive cooling systems, and energy policy design in the Eastern Mediterranean region. He has authored over 45 publications, including books such as *Energy Policy Design in the Eastern Mediterranean Basin: A Roadmap to Energy Efficiency* (2023) and contributes to ASHRAE’s Global Thermal Comfort Database II. His work aligns with UN SDGs, particularly addressing sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11) and climate action (SDG 13).
Key research areas include adaptive thermal comfort benchmarking, deep energy retrofitting, and BIM applications. He teaches Environmental Design and Engineering, Building Performance Evaluation, and IoT in Architecture. His recent articles explore biofuel production from tire waste, seismic building isolation, and post-pandemic residential design.
