Bertrand Bergier is an Associate Professor at the Catholic University of the West (UCO Angers) and the University of Sherbrooke. He holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Paris 7 (1990) and an HDR qualification in Sociology (1998). His research focuses on the Sociology of the Improbable, social relegation/advancement, and educational pathways. He leads the LIRFE research team and has organized international conferences on topics like inclusive practices and social vulnerability. Bergier has authored over 20 publications, including books on non-television culture and social pedagogy. He supervises doctoral research in education and ethics, with current projects exploring AI in pedagogy, complex thought integration, and healthcare ethics. His work emphasizes social emancipation, critical pedagogy, and marginalized populations.
