Berthony Deslouches

Berthony Deslouches is an Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health. He serves as the Interim Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Director of Educational Outreach, and Vice Chair for Research.

• Education: BS in Anthropology and Biochemistry (1993), MA in Biochemistry (1996), PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics (2006), MD in Medicine (2008) – all from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Research Interests: His laboratory focuses on engineered cationic antimicrobial peptides (eCAPs) to combat drug-resistant infections and cancer. Key areas include:

• Development of systemic peptide therapeutics
