معرفی
Bernhard Herrmann is a Professor and Head of the Institute for Medical Genetics at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and Director of the Department of Developmental Genetics at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin. He holds dual appointments in academic and research institutions, focusing on developmental genetics and molecular biology.
Education: Studied Biology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Würzburg and SUNY Albany. Earned a PhD from the University of Karlsruhe (1987) under the European Molecular Biology Laboratory. Served as an EMBO postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute for Medical Research (London) before joining the Max Planck Society, leading research groups in Tübingen and Freiburg before his current positions.
Research Interests: Gene regulatory networks in mesoderm formation and trunk development in mice, tumor formation from aberrant tissue homeostasis, and transmission ratio distortion via mouse t-haplotype. These studies bridge developmental biology, cancer mechanisms, and evolutionary genetics.
Awards: Elected Member of the European Molecular Biology Organisation (2002) and appointed Member of the Max Planck Society (2003).
Labs/Teams: Leads the Department of Developmental Genetics at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics and directs the Institute for Medical Genetics at Charité. No specific grants or advisory roles are detailed in the provided text.
