Bernd Draser, MA, serves as a Lecturer in the Sustainability Lead at ecosign—part of the Department of Design at Fresenius University of Applied Sciences—where he has guided design students through thesis completion since 2004. He oversees the "Sustainability" module strand across all bachelor's and master's programs and supports examination processes, while concurrently operating as a Senior Consultant for corporate sustainability training since 2021.
His research concentrates on the intersection of sustainability and design, emphasizing sustainable design methodologies, ecodesign principles, and resource efficiency frameworks. Key contributions include co-authoring "Sustainable Design. Origin, Future, Perspectives" (2022) and instrumental involvement in "The History of Sustainable Design," disseminated through conferences like MAKKfuture lecture series, brand eins magazine features, and the Henkel "Fritz for Future" podcast.
Draser actively mentors students through bachelor's and master's theses while developing curriculum, examinations, and program accreditations. He sustains strategic partnerships with the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, Aalto University, and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, enhancing international research collaboration.
