Bernard Lidický is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Iowa State University (since 2022), where he previously served as Associate Professor (2018-2022) and Assistant Professor (2014-2018). He holds leadership roles as Associate Chair for research/faculty development and Director of the Postbaccalaureate Mathematics Program. Lidický is also an editor for SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics and associate editor for Discrete Mathematics.
His research focuses on graph theory and combinatorics, with specific interests in graph coloring, extremal graph theory, and combinatorial algorithms. He teaches courses including Introduction to Data Science, Calculus II, and Discrete Optimization.
Lidický mentors graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in discrete mathematics and organizes the Discrete Math @ Iowa seminar. He co-founded the Graduate Research Workshop in Combinatorics (GRWC) and leads an NSF-funded RTG project for training graduate students/postdocs.
