Berit Greinke serves as Professor for Wearable Computing at the Berlin University of the Arts and the Einstein Center Digital Future (ECDF), where she leads the Wearable Computing research group within the Institute for Experimental Clothing and Textile Design under the Faculty of Design.
Her research centers on developing innovative design methods and manufacturing techniques for electronic textiles and smart materials through artisanal digital fabrication. This multidisciplinary work integrates principles from design, physics, materials science, and electrical engineering to bridge creative and technical domains. Her practice manifests in tangible outputs including interactive design objects, installations, performances, and collaborative workshops that foster cross-disciplinary dialogue between design and engineering disciplines.
Through her leadership of the Wearable Computing research group, she cultivates experimental approaches to textile-based technologies while maintaining active affiliations with both the university's design faculty and Berlin's broader digital research ecosystem via the ECDF platform.
