Berit Berger is an Adjunct Professor and Lecturer in Law at Columbia Law School, affiliated with Columbia University's School of Law. She concurrently holds roles as an Executive Assistant District Attorney for Policy and Strategic Initiatives, Chief Ethics Officer (Westchester County DA’s Office), and Executive Director of the Center for the Advancement of Public Integrity at Columbia Law School. Her professional background includes 11 years as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Offices for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, where she specialized in terrorism, violent crime, trafficking, and racketeering cases. She has also served as a legal analyst for MSNBC/NBC News and contributed to UN anti-corruption initiatives.

Her research focuses on legal ethics, anti-corruption strategies, and criminal justice policy. She has developed international frameworks for prosecuting corruption and advised governments globally. Her career includes over 30 jury trials and appellate arguments before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Recent professional highlights include drafting a UNODC handbook on investigating corruption offenses and receiving the U.S. Department of Justice’s highest honor for her federal prosecution work.
