Beril Toktay is a Professor of Operations Management at the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology. She is also the Brady Family Chairholder, Regents' Professor, and the Executive Director of the Brook Byers Institute for Sustainable Systems. Her research focuses on sustainable operations, supply chain management, and closed-loop supply chains, with funding from the National Science Foundation and recognition including the 2015 Management Science Best Paper in Operations Management Award and 2018 Reimagine Education Natural Sciences First Prize.
- Education: Ph.D. in Operations Research (MIT, 1998), M.S. in Industrial Engineering (Purdue, 1994), B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics (Boğaziçi University, 1992)
Her research interests span sustainable operations, supply chain management, and policy analysis, with a focus on environmental regulation, remanufacturing strategies, and equitable business practices. Recent work explores extended producer responsibility (EPR), solar energy business models, and medical surplus allocation, emphasizing systems thinking and policy-driven innovation.

Beril Toktay has held editorial leadership roles, including Department Editor for Environment, Health, and Society at M&SOM and Area Editor (Environment, Energy, and Sustainability) at Operations Research. She co-edited the 2013 M&SOM Special Issue on the Environment and the 2023 Management Science Special Issue on Business and Climate Change.
