Bentley Brown is a part-time Lecturer at The New School's Parsons School of Design. Based in the Bronx, NY and Phoenix, AZ, he is a multidisciplinary artist, curator, and Ph.D. candidate at NYU's Institute of Fine Arts. His research focuses on Black artists and creative spaces in NYC's contemporary art movements from the late 1960s to mid-1980s.

Research interests include Postwar Abstract Expressionism, African Diaspora photography, and themes of Black identity. He has published in Artforum and Berlin Artlink, and co-authored an exhibition catalog for Berry Campbell Gallery.
