معرفی
Benoît Cluzel is a University Professor in the Photonics department at the University of Burgundy. He is based in location D307A at the ICB laboratory, where he has been working since 2006.
His educational background includes:
- Materials Engineer from POLYTECH DIJON
- PhD in Physics from the University of Burgundy (thesis completed at CEA Grenoble)
- Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches (2012) titled "Tools and concepts of near-field optics for nanophotonics"
Professor Cluzel's research focuses on near-field optics, nanophotonics, and nanotechnologies. He is particularly interested in understanding and controlling optical phenomena in subwavelength materials to develop new optoelectronic and biomedical functionalities. His work bridges fundamental physics with practical applications in photonics.
He is currently coordinating the EquipEx+ SMARTLIGHT project, which aims to create a French research infrastructure hosted in Bourgogne Franche-Comté, fostering excellence and innovation for the emergence of smart photonic technologies. Additionally, he coordinates the second year of the International Master's degree in Physics, Photonics & Nanotechnologies at the University of Burgundy.
Professor Cluzel's laboratory work centers around the ICB laboratory where he has built research programs in nanophotonics. His team works on developing new methodologies for near-field optical characterization and applications in subwavelength optics.
