Bennetta Jules-Rosette is a Professor of Sociology at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and Director of the African and African-American Studies Research Center. She holds a B.A. (Summa Cum Laude) from Radcliffe College and M.A./Ph.D. in Social Relations from Harvard University. Her research focuses on African art, semiotics, religious discourse, technology in Africa, and museum studies, with fieldwork conducted across Congo, Zambia, Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya, and France.

Her work bridges cultural anthropology and sociology through studies of African art, diasporic cultural landscapes, and technological impacts.
