Benjamin Simons is the Royal Society EP Abraham Professor and Herchel Smith Professor of Physics at the University of Cambridge. He serves as Director of the Gurdon Institute, Senior Group Leader at the Gurdon Institute, Principal Investigator at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, and member of the Theory of Condensed Matter physics group. He is also a Fellow of St. John's College, Cambridge. His research integrates quantitative approaches from physics and mathematics with experimental biology to investigate stem cell fate regulation in tissue development, maintenance, and cancer pathogenesis.
