Benjamin S. Brooke

Benjamin S. Brooke, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Utah, with adjunct appointments in Biomedical Informatics and Population Health Sciences. He also serves as the Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Section Chief of Health Services Research.

Dr. Brooke’s clinical practice spans aortic, visceral, carotid, and lower extremity arterial disease treatment, dialysis access, thoracic outlet syndrome, and venous insufficiency. His research focuses on improving surgical care transitions through health information technology (HIT), implementation science, and population health analytics, funded by PCORI, NIH, VA, and ONC grants.

Recent publications highlight his work on surgical outcomes, opioid management, frailty assessments, and healthcare equity. He actively publishes in journals like JAMA Surgery, Journal of Vascular Surgery, and Annals of Vascular Surgery, with a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary approaches to pain management and care coordination.
