Benjamin Pohlig

Benjamin Pohlig is a Research Fellow at the Academy of Dance, Oslo National Academy of Arts. Originally from Berlin, he studied contemporary dance in England and Belgium. His choreographic work explores theater as a social and political space, examining how behaviors are physically experienced. His notable works include the participatory solo 'dance yourself clean' and collaborations '5 seasons' and 'A Farewell to Flesh'. As a dancer, he has worked internationally with artists like Martin Nachbar and Isabelle Schad, and was an ensemble member of Cullberg from 2019-2022.

His research focuses on social choreography and using dance to address climate change. His current project is 'Democracy in Movement – Bodies of Protest'.
