Benjamin P Dolezal is an Associate Professor of Art and Art History at The University of Texas at Arlington, specializing in graphic design, brand development, and user experience strategy. He holds an MFA in Visual Communications from UTA (2011), a BFA in Graphic Design from Kansas State University (2005), and a BS in Economics (2003).
His research focuses on client-designer collaboration, design strategy, and human-centered design. Key interests include logo development, packaging design, website UX/UI, and socially conscious environmental poster campaigns. Dolezal has advised numerous graduate students in design thesis projects and served on faculty search committees, curriculum development initiatives, and university service roles like Chair of the CORRPRO Design Lab.
Notable awards include multiple UDA Design Competition awards (2024, 2022), Creative Quarterly recognition, and Graphis honors. He has led a National Science Foundation-funded REU Site on Hybrid Design and Fabrication ($402k grant, 2021–2024).
Professionally, Dolezal has designed branding for major clients like the Dallas Cowboys, American Cancer Society, and CrossFit Ironhorse. His creative work appears in LogoLounge books, American Corporate Identity publications, and international exhibitions such as the Emirates International Poster Festival.
