Dr. Benjamin Mathew is a Professor of Counseling at Columbia International University (CIU), affiliated with the Seminary & School of Counseling. He holds a PhD in General Psychology from the JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences, National University, an MA in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a BS in Biblical Studies from Emmaus University. Specializing in integrating theology with counseling practices, his research focuses on multiculturalism, racial reconciliation, biblical ethics, and gender studies. He is a Board-Certified Counselor (NCC) and maintains a private therapy practice.
Dr. Mathew’s scholarly contributions include over two decades of publications addressing issues like immigration policy through a biblical lens, theological perspectives on sexuality, and racial animosity in interracial marriages. He actively engages in professional presentations globally, including keynotes at conferences in Thailand, the U.S., and Australia, emphasizing topics like racial identity, transgenderism, and pastoral care.
His professional memberships include the Christian Association for Psychological Studies (CAPS) and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Beyond academia, he balances family life with community engagement, advocating mental health awareness and mentoring youth through leadership conferences.
