Benjamin Maiangwa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Lakehead University, where he has been employed since September 2021. Prior to this, he served as a Teaching Fellow in International Relations and Peace and Conflict Studies at the School of Government and International Affairs (SGIA), Durham University, England, and as an instructor at the University of Manitoba and the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT).

His research explores the intersection of politics, culture, and society, employing storytelling, action research, and critical ethnography to analyze contested belonging, mobility, and everyday experiences of conflict and peace. His publications address topics such as infrastructural racism, truth and reconciliation processes in Rwanda, memory studies in Nigeria-Biafra, and postcolonial nationhood challenges in Africa.
