معرفی
Benjamin D. Cosgrove is a Professor at the Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University, where he directs the Laboratory of Regenerative Systems Biology. His research focuses on integrating systems bioengineering approaches to address muscle stem cell dysfunction in aging and disease.
- Education: B.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota (2003), Ph.D. in Bioengineering from MIT (2009), and postdoctoral training at Stanford University School of Medicine (2009-2012).
Dr. Cosgrove's work emphasizes transcriptional and signaling network dysregulation in muscle stem cells, leveraging single-cell analysis, signaling network modeling, and biomimetic microenvironment engineering to decode stem cell-niche interactions. His recent publications highlight advancements in muscle progenitor cell state identification, hydrogel-based stem cell expansion, and heterotypic signaling in regeneration.
- Scientific Awards: Whitaker Foundation Graduate Fellowship (2003), Biomedical Engineering Society Graduate Research Award (2008), Stanford Molecular Imaging Scholars Fellowship (2009), NIH Pathway to Independence Award (2012), Rising Star Award (2015), Swanson Teaching Excellence Award (2019).
His lab collaborates with experts in genetics, computational biology, and regenerative medicine to develop rational stem cell therapies for tissue aging and degeneration.
