Benjamin C. Ayers is the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost at the University of Georgia, serving as the chief academic officer since June 30, 2025. In this role, he collaborates with deans of UGA’s 19 schools and colleges and vice presidents across instruction, research, public service, and information technology to advance academic excellence. Prior to his provost appointment, Ayers served as Dean of the Terry College of Business for 11 years, where he elevated its national rankings and expanded academic programs, scholarships, and study abroad opportunities.

Ayers’ research focuses on accounting and taxation, informed by his academic leadership and professional experience in auditing and healthcare finance. His work has driven institutional advancements in taxation education and business analytics.
