Benita Combet

Benita Combet is an Assistant Professor (with tenure track) at the Institute of Sociology, University of Bern, Switzerland. She conducts research on social inequality with a focus on educational and gender disparities in labor markets. Dr. Combet's educational background includes:

• PhD in Sociology from the University of Bern (supervised by Ben Jann and Walter Müller)
• Studies in Sociology, Science of Religion, and Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Bern

Her research focuses on social inequality, with particular emphasis on educational inequality and gender inequality in the labor market. Dr. Combet employs panel data and experimental methods to investigate promotion inequality and related topics. Her current research is supported by an SNSF Starting Grant that examines promotion inequality across different social groups.
