Benina Gould is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Transformative Social Change at Saybrook University. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Fielding Institute (1987) and an LCSW from Simmons College (1975). Her work focuses on trauma, resiliency, refugee issues, and peace education. She co-directs Saybrook's Trauma Certificate program and teaches courses on refugee trauma and resiliency.

Research Interests: Dr. Gould’s research examines social justice, religious pluralism, and youth perspectives on global conflicts. Her projects include the Next Generation Project, surveying students in Germany, Indonesia, Pakistan, and the U.S. to address stereotypes and political crises. She also collaborates on adapting peace education materials for interfaith groups.

Advising & Grants: Her work includes leading groups of psychologists to the former Soviet Union via Trac II projects and completing the Living in the Question study on the Berlin Nuclear Crisis. She has also facilitated post-Paris Attacks PTSD research and global textbook adaptations for peace education.
Labs/Teams: Collaborates with international scholars on peace education materials and interfaith initiatives, particularly focusing on Muslim communities and refugee populations.
