Benedikt Stahl

Prof. Benedikt Stahl is a prominent architect and academic serving as Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Alanus Hochschule. His roles include Vice Dean and Chair of Architecture and Urban Space. He has held leadership positions in the university's Senate and served as Acting Vice-Rector. Outside academia, he co-founded Atelier Fritschi + Stahl in 1991, focusing on architecture and urban space design. He has been a member of the German Werkbund since 1995 and holds leadership roles in the WB Academy NW. His educational background includes a diploma from FH Düsseldorf and FH Höxter, alongside apprenticeships in Olpe.

Stahl's research focuses on architecture and urban space, foundational design education, spatial relationships between human and architectural space, free drawing, and spatial interventions. Stahl has authored numerous publications, including works on the Bauhaus, urban design theory, and architectural interventions. He has served on juries for prestigious architecture competitions and maintains active involvement in urban advisory boards for Wuppertal, Neuss, and Bonn.
