Dr. Benedikt Mihm is a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Aberdeen's Business School since 2021. He holds an MA in Economics from the University of Aberdeen, an MSc in Economics from Humboldt University Berlin, and a PhD in Economics from Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. Prior to his current role, he served as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Otto-von-Guericke University for ten years and a Lecturer at Otto-von-Guericke Business School between 2012–2017.
His research focuses on Labour Economics, Public Economics, and Behavioral and Experimental Economics, with particular interests in asymmetric information effects, policy design, and human capital development. Recent work explores the impacts of lockdowns on children's well-being and the role of parental religiosity in education.
Dr. Mihm actively supervises PhD candidates in Economics and teaches courses such as Intermediate Microeconomics and Business Strategy. His publications appear in reputable journals like Labour Economics, Journal of Economic Psychology, and Scientific Reports.
