Benedikt Fauseweh is Junior Professor for Theoretical Quantum Many-Body Physics and Digital Quantum Simulation at TU Dortmund University's Department of Physics, Condensed Matter Theory, appointed since November 2023. He earned his PhD in Physics from TU Dortmund (2016), preceded by MSc and BSc degrees from the same institution.
His research focuses on digital quantum simulation techniques, non-equilibrium dynamics in quantum many-body systems, and quantum computing applications. Prior positions include Group Leader for Quantum Computing Applications at the German Aerospace Center in Cologne (2022-2023) and postdoctoral research at Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA (2019-2021) and the Max-Planck Institute for Solid State Research, Stuttgart (2017-2018).
Fauseweh's publications demonstrate expertise in quantum algorithm development, quantum simulation methodologies, and theoretical investigations of quantum materials. Recent work emphasizes variational quantum circuits, quantum hardware implementation, and dynamics of strongly correlated systems.
