Benedikt Brors

Benedikt Brors is a W3 Professor at Heidelberg University and Head of the Department of Applied Bioinformatics at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) since 2014, with prior roles as Group Leader in Computational Oncology at DKFZ and lecturer in Bioinformatics at Heidelberg University from 2003 to 2014.

His educational background includes a Dr. rer. nat. in Natural Sciences (1999) and Dipl. Chem. in Chemistry (1995), both from the University of Düsseldorf.

Brors' research spans bioinformatics and computational oncology, focusing on cancer genomics, epigenomics, and large-scale genomic analysis through leadership in international consortia like the Pan-Cancer Analysis of Whole Genomes project.
