Dr. Benedict Weobong is an Associate Professor at the School of Global Health, Faculty of Health, York University. A global mental health epidemiologist with academic training from the Universities of Ghana and London, he specializes in developing and evaluating psychological treatments, implementation research for scaling mental health interventions in low-resource primary care settings, and school-based health promotion programs using task-sharing strategies.
- Research Focus: Immuno-psychiatry, social determinants of mental health, adolescent depression/anxiety interventions, digital mental health delivery, and climate change-mental health linkages

His current research laboratory oversees: (1) step-up care interventions for adolescent mental health in Ghana (African Youth in Mind), (2) implementation evaluation of adolescent health check-ups, and (3) capacity-building initiatives for global mental health researchers through doctoral/post-doctoral training (AMARI-Africa).
