Ben Vida is an Adjunct Associate Professor in Sonic Arts at the Conservatory of Music, part of the School of Visual, Media and Performing Arts at Brooklyn College, City University of New York. As both artist and composer, his work bridges experimental sound practices with contemporary art.

Vida’s research and creative practice focuses on durational sound works, electroacoustic composition, and spatial audio installations. His exhibitions at institutions like Lisa Cooley Gallery and 356 Mission Road, along with performances at EMPAC and the Sydney Opera House, highlight his engagement with multichannel sound environments, voice processing, and temporal experimentation.
His work has been featured in major publications including Artforum, The New York Times, and WIRED Magazine, alongside releases with labels PAN and Shelter Press. Vida’s compositions often integrate choral elements with electronic manipulation, exemplified by his 2016 piece Reducing the Tempo to Zero presented across Europe.
